Our Heritage

Cadence Legal was founded by Peter Carroll, a qualified legal practitioner with more than 30 years’ experience in the law and business.

Peter started his professional career in the Sydney then London offices of top tier Australian commercial law firm Mallesons Stephen Jaques (now King & Wood Mallesons), working on a wide range of domestic and cross border corporate and commercial matters.

He then made the move to in-house counsel, holding senior roles in domestic and offshore blue chip private and listed corporates. 

First into the Swiss HQ of ISL, a global sports marketing business, where he worked on the commercialisation of major global sporting events including the FIFA World Cup and the UEFA European Championships, including multi-million dollar sponsorship and licensing arrangements with global consumer brands of the likes of Coca-Cola, MasterCard, Gillette and Sony. 

Then back to Australia where he joined ASX-listed Lion Nathan, now Lion, one of Australasia’s largest branded fmcg food and beverage businesses.  He started as General Counsel of Lion’s Australian beer business, then took on the role of General Counsel of the dairy and drinks business. 

Peter also held Director and Company Secretary roles during his time in-house.
